  • Reverse osmosis removes the dissolved salts from the make up water, drastically reducing blowdown and hence energy losses. Energy savings normally recover the plant cost in under 2 years.

  • Natural alkalinity in raw water produces CO2 in steam boilers, which causes corrosion in condensate systems. Reverse osmosis removes this source of corrosion.

  • De-alkalisation plants can be replaced with reverse osmosis, thereby eliminating the requirement for acid. RO does not use chemicals, so this hazard can be eliminated. It will also reduce blowdown and save energy.
